“Each student is different and so is their journey.”
~ Lisa-Marie Aird
Out of all that I have done in my years, my greatest accomplishment is being a mom of two unique children, guiding their individual journeys. My parenting journey seemed long and challenging at times, especially being a single mom. Asking for guidance and not getting the answers I expected. So, I did the best thing for me. Researched my questions and worked to help my children start their journey after high school successfully. I’ve been asked how I did it. I honestly don’t know. It’s by God’s grace and His purpose for me and my children and keeping the Nike slogan running in my head…” Just Do It”.
Before I was a Mom, my passion for uplifting and educating our youth led me to develop mentorship programs, internship programs, and career talks for students. When my children got involved in high school sports, I grew tired of hearing them and their friends complain about team dynamics, so I designed a team building program for student athletes. That experience helped me bond with some students who trusted me to personally mentor them and guide them with the college application process. For over 8 years I’ve been working independently with students and parents navigating the college application process to include essay writing, interview coaching, college and scholarship application guidance, and more.
Each student is different and so is their journey. My role as a Collegiate Success Coach is to help alleviate the stress and anxiety that comes with the college application process, so families can enjoy the end of high school and embrace the journey to college with joy.
